THE REAL OFFICE. KUNST + REALITÄT is a curatorial and production office operating between Stuttgart and Salzburg.
Since 2016, we have been realizing independent projects in all artistic fields, from conception through to fundraising, developing collaborations, managing public relations, concretely planning and organizing, and mediating between institutions and non-institutional realities. We write catalogue and exhibition texts, residency and funding applications, and support specific aspects of project implementation. In addition, we teach our skills and knowledge at art academies and universities.
For self-initiated exhibitions, we look for locations outside of institutional structures and try other ways of mediating current discourses—reaching out to audiences beyond the field of art matters to us. It is important for us to work together with artists and audiences in an accessible way, free of pre-set boundaries. We are driven by the hope that some things will change.
We support projects that can overcome their own point of view, become involved, and envision change, while not escaping reality.
