Foltyn, Tzusoo, Jonathan Vinel
After the first part in a vacant store in Salzburg, The Real Office shows the exhibition STRIKE GENTLY AWAY 2 during the test phase of the project space of Kunstverein Wagenhalle. The title stems from the warning on matchboxes “Strike gently away from body”. The exhibition transfers the notion to gender and body norms, to national identities, to rigid historiography, origin, and statehood. Implicitly or as a conscious focusing the concepts are carefully stroke off in the artists’ works. Their construction within society as well as the subjective perception of belonging and identification with them are examined. Without a uniform narrative, the exhibition explores their own narratives in different artistic positions and media.
